At Chicago Town we are passionate about the environment and are constantly looking at ways we can improve what we do to have a positive impact. Reducing the impact of excess packaging is a constant focus for us. Following consumer tests, we identified that we are able to remove the microwave receptor disc from our Deep Dish range of pizzas without impacting on our great tasting product when cooked without the disc in the microwave.

Why is my takeaway pizza squashed and mis-shapen?Our Takeaway pizzas are made with our unique rising dough, which cooks for the first time in your oven to give you a real Takeaway taste experience. When we make our pizzas into the perfect shape, we then freeze them - which should keep them this way. But if the dough starts to defrost then it can cause its shape to change. Somewhere between leaving Chicago Town HQ and getting to your freezer it seems this has happened. This could have happened during transit, in the store or supermarket or as it was transported to your home. We work closely with retailers and our transportation partners to try to identify and resolve any issues before the pizza gets to you. We also always recommend to carry our Takeaway pizzas flat (like you would do with a cooked takeaway pizza) and suggest getting it in the freezer as soon as possible!
