Dr. Maria Harrington’s innovative pilot program that was initiated last year is emerging as a truly impactful work force readiness experience for students, as well resulting in improvements to the entire UCF student user experience.
Last year, her students’ final project was to improve the usability, remove errors, reduce time on tasks to achieve goals, while using web software development technologies. This project is in the field of human-computer interaction (HCI) and organizational efficiency broadly. HCI and UX/UI is a very important field with many jobs.
Partnering with UCF IT created an opportunity for Dr. Harrington’s top students to apply UX/UI knowledge and skills learned in her class to solve real world problems, yet in a safe and supportive environment created by UCF IT professionals, while in a paid internship and for credit.
